A costume can carry its own character. In performance and theatre, it is not merely an accessory to the actor — it becomes a presence in itself. Its weight, texture, and movement influence how a body moves, stands, or even breathes. Some costumes invite motion, others resist it, and in that negotiation between fabric and flesh, something new is born.
The material itself holds personality: leather that commands, silk that whispers, metal that shields. Each speaks in its own language, shaping both the wearer and the performance.
In my work, costumes are not only designed but discovered — emerging through dialogue between concept, craft, and the inherent voice of the material. They are extensions of the body and vessels for transformation, where art, motion, and matter converge — combining traditional craftsmanship with sculptural and experimental techniques.

The Stage Cloak for Teufel von Tanzwut

For the album “Die Tanzwut kehrt zurück”, Teufel von Tanzwut commissioned me to create a new stage cloak – giving me complete artistic freedom. The result is a garment in the iconic colors black and red, marked by powerful symbolic elements: leather horns on the shoulder (with the left side left free for the bagpipes), a kraken across the back with custom-crafted eyes, and geometric leather appliqués adding structure and depth. The design is completed by five red points along the hem – a recurring motif that has become a visual signature of Tanzwut.

This music video also features the White-Eyes leather headdress as well as the frame of the Art Nouveau figure.
